Sunday School

Adult bible study group meets on Sundays from 9:15-10:00 am.

The adult study group meets year-round in the parish hall on Sundays from 9:15 am until 10 am. Christian study topics are selected toward the Church calendar and with input from participants. The selected books are ordered and provided to participants. Typical topics last from 6-10 weeks based on the length and content of the book and topic selected. Individual lessons are led by Reverend Steiner or by fellow classmates, providing a framework for studying and interpreting scripture in our own lives. The meetings also provide a wonderful opportunity to learn from each other and about each other as we each bring unique perspectives and experiences to share and discuss.

Educational opportunities also occur during the Brotherhood of St. Andrews and Women of Trinity meetings.

Sunday School Special Activities

Each year the Sunday School participates in several activities and events, including:

Parish Picnic. During the month of September after 10:15 a.m. church service, adults and children come together for the annual Church picnic, enjoying grilled food, home cooked side dishes from parish members, soft drinks, and fun activities.

Collecting food and presents for needy families during the holidays. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, Trinity Church adopts families and donates food and gathers presents on the "Christmas Wish List" from the adopted families.

Christmas Play. During the Christmas Eve service, all Sunday School children are encouraged to participate in this pageant, which tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Christmas Play

Stations of the Cross. During the Good Friday service, all Sunday School students are encouraged to participate in this play, that tells the story of the death of Jesus Christ.

Easter Egg Hunt. Sponsored by Trinity Church's Youth Group, an Easter egg hunt is held after 10:15 am services on Easter Sunday.

Rogation Sunday. Sunday School children and adult helpers weed, mulch and plant flowers around the church. Gardening supplies, materials and plants are donated by members of the church.

Children's Choir. Sunday School children are invited to participate in the children's choir, coordinated by the adult choir.

Acolyte. Sunday School children may participate as acolytes after training. For more information, contact Reverend Steiner.

Helpful Hints

Arrive on time. Make Sunday school a pleasant experience by a calm and happy entrance enabling an easy transition for your child when you leave to go to church services.

Wear washable clothing. Sometimes we get a little "messy" with paints and glue from our arts and crafts projects. If your children wear good clothes, you may consider bringing an old shirt or smock to keep at Sunday School as a cover.

Attend Sunday School regularly. Upon request, teachers will be happy to provide you with any handouts distributed at classes your child may have missed.

Join us for fellowship hour after Church services. Make this your special time together to meet with other church members and their children.

Sunday School Mission: To teach our children bible stories, customs of the Episcopal Church, prayers, church songs, building a second "family" of friends at church, in a loving, enjoyable atmosphere, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
